The Beckwiths Begin Service

Beckwith Family

Mark, Jenny, and Abigail Beckwith have arrived from England as part of our training partnership with MAF-United Kingdom. Mark is serving as an apprentice mechanic.

The Gettles Begin Service

Gettle Family

Paul, Kristin, Grant, Cole, and Evan have arrived from Alabama to begin apprenticeship. Paul brings some aviation maintenance experience with him from his years working at Teledyne Continental Motors’ engine manufacturing plant.

The Newmans Begin Service as Long-term Staff

Newman Family

After nine years of field service in Bolivia with World Gospel Mission (WGM), Jim, Mary, Jordan, Catherine, and Danielle now serve with MMS as long-term staff. On loan from WGM, Jim will help maintain missionary aircraft while preparing apprentice mechanics for the technical and non-technical realities of life on the mission field.

Progress Continues On The Honduran 206

While outwardly it may not look much different from the photos in the August 2009 GroundCrew, much has occurred—and much is occurring—to push this project closer to completion.

As this issue goes to press, the cowling has been properly fit and painted, new side windows are installed, rigging of the control cables is completed, an aileron was fabricated, the instrument panel is receiving attention, and the interior has been installed.

Lord willing, the aircraft will soon be back in Honduras once again, speeding the love and Good News of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard, as well as delivering the resources necessary to facilitate discipleship and spiritual growth in those already walking “God’s trail.”

While this project has provided extensive maintenance experience for the apprentices involved, the mission will receive an airplane basically restored to an “as new” condition. With this project’s completion, we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and your faithfulness in giving which allows us to provide our specialized and unique service to mission aviation organizations around the world.
