New Challenges Continue on the Honduran 206

After fourteen months of heavy restoration, new structural challenges extend the Cessna 206 project for Alas de Socorro in Honduras.

(Right) Chuck Egbert removes the old paint from one of the wings.

Earlier this fall a secondary inspection led to the discovery of corrosion in the wings. Corrosion is something we have to look for but hate to find. The damage was of such a nature that it necessitated taking the wings apart and replacing internal structure as well as external skins. This has pushed the projected completion date back several months.

(Right) Bob Schwartz rivets a new skin in place as Joshua Adelsberger handles the bucking bar.

Additional manpower has been pulled from other projects to help bring this project to a close. Please pray for Team Dunkley as they persevere in their efforts to return this airplane to service. Please pray for Alas de Socorro as they raise the additional funds necessary to keep the restoration and repairs moving forward.

This project takes up most of the space inside Hangar B.
