Team Updates

Cessna 206 Arrives
The MAF Cessna 206 arrives in pieces from Chad, Africa.

Team Coates
Dale Coates’ team of Shawn Bupp and Brian Lites are currently engaged in the repair and restoration of an MAF Cessna 206 from Chad, Africa. Heavily damaged by a wind storm, the aircraft was shipped to MMS because the project was more complex and time consuming than the missionary team in Chad could realistically undertake. Before starting the 206 project, Dale’s team worked on regional aircraft as well as performed an annual inspection and engine overhaul on a Comanche used for ministry in West Virginia.

Torque Link Assembly
Shawn Bupp installs the torque link on Gospel Carrier International’s Cessna 172.

Team Dunkley
Mike Dunkley’s team of Chuck Egbert and David Mozombite continued their extensive restoration of a Cessna 206 for a ministry in Honduras. Inspection of the aircraft revealed damage that would have caused the aircraft to be scrapped. But because of the nature of MMS’ ministry of providing maintenance services labor-free to missions, this ministry will receive the airplane in an airworthy condition for approximately $40,000 in parts as opposed to having to be replaced for approximately $180,000.

Team Hengst
Ian Hengst has teamed up with Chase Ketcham, putting the major amount of their effort into maintaining the three aircraft owned and operated by Gospel Carrier International: a Beechcraft Super King Air 200, A Cessna 310, and a Cessna 172. They have also worked on several regional aircraft.
