Maintenance Update

With the completion of the Honduran 206, Mike Dunkley, Jim Newman, and Andy Porter shifted over to provide additional manpower on the Brazilian 206 restoration. Ian Hengst, Josh Adelsberger , Paul Jones, and Mark Beckwith have appreciated the help.

Dennis Satterthwaite, Chuck Egbert, Scott Grote, and Paul Gettle continue their efforts on the Cessna 337 restoration for ministry in Canada. The front engine has been overhauled and installed and the overhaul of the second engine has started. Recent airframe repairs have focused on the airplane’s hydraulic system.

Dale Coates supervised the Cessna 337’s engine overhaul and conducted annual inspections on several aircraft to include two regional airplanes and a Piper Aztec used for ministry by a Christian singing group. As the Aztec inspection was an “all hands on deck” project because of a tight turn-around time, Bob Schwartz and Tim Obarow also participated. Dale’s also been organizing technical data and engine shop tooling to make future engine builds even more efficient.

Gospel Carrier International’s King Air 200 was also in for regular scheduled maintenance. Service was performed on the aircraft’s oxygen system, fuel control unit, and engines.

Along with the maintenance trip to Florida featured on page 1, Ian, Dale, Andy, Josh, and Mark made a one day Rapid Response to Kidron, Ohio to assist Preferred Airparts with a double wing-pull on a turbine DC-3 they’re preparing for use by Missionary Flights International.
