The Honduran 206 Returns To Service
As this issue went to press, the Honduran 206 restoration project reached completion. After extensive
restoration and repair, all that remains before the aircraft returns to ministry is an airworthiness
inspection by Honduran aviation authorities and a final test flight or two.
By the time you read this, the airplane should be back in Honduras serving the indigenous Christian community
and supporting ongoing missionary efforts throughout the region.
Originally manufactured in 1981, this airplane arrived at our facility tired and worn from years of hard usage
on the mission field. But thanks to your gifts and prayers, it has returned to the field in a “like-new”
condition. Allowing MMS to do the restoration and repair saved Alas de Socorro nearly $100,000 from what
they would have spent to replace the airplane with a similar “field-ready” Cessna 206.
Major Progress Is Made On The Brazilian 206

Ian and the freshly painted Brazilian 206 fuselage
Things are literally coming together on the Brazilian 206. The paint’s been sprayed, the wings are hung, the
“tail-feathers” are attached and the engine is installed. There’s still some interior work to do within the
fuselage, and the new instrument panel still has a ways to go before it’s fully functional, but the airplane
itself is nearly completed.

Mike determines the best position to locate the fuel flow transducer on the Brazilian 206’s engine.
The next phase of the project will be to mount the airframe on an amphibious float system as the airplane will
ultimately use the Amazon River as its primary runway.

The left wing is attached to the 206’s fuselage.
