The Thayer Family Arrives from Moody Aviation

Thayer Family

Pete, Lindi, Grace, Rachel, and Evangelina Thayer arrived in late November to begin a four month aviation maintenance internship with MMS. Pete earned his A&P certificate as part of Moody Aviation’s Bachelor of Science in Missionary Aviation Technology program in Spokane, Washington. He is serving with MMS to gain additional hands-on maintenance experience.

It’s a blessing to be able to partner with Moody Aviation in helping prepare the Thayers for mission service.

The Kamphorst Family Arrives from Holland

Kamphorst Family

Gertjan, Glenda, Johan, & Marielle Kamphorst arrived from The Netherlands the day after Christmas to begin service as an apprentice family. Gertjan will work toward earning his Airframe & Powerplant mechanic’s certificate.

The Kamphorsts have previously served on the field in Papua New Guinea as members of MAF Australia.

The Grote Family Joins MMS as Career Staff

Grote Family

Scott & Jessica Grote have joined MMS as career staff. Scott serves in the role of Production Mechanic assisting teams and individuals in better accomplishing the maintenance tasks at hand. It’s a pleasure to have Scott, Jessica, Tricia, Ella, and Olivia stay with MMS in a staff capacity.

The MMS Paint Booth Becomes Operational

In February the recently constructed MMS paint booth passed final inspection allowing the 16’x16’x 44’ booth to be approved for use.

However, while MMS does provide training in aircraft painting techniques, it’s important to understand that MMS is not an aviation paint shop. Our teams are authorized to only paint what they repair.
